Toledo signs 21 recruits for it’s 2016 Recruiting Class

The University of Toledo signed 21 recruits to their 2016 football recruiting class on Wednesday’s national signing day. In addition to the class, Toledo added Notre Dame Transfer sophomore Jhonny Williams, the defensive end will be eligible for the 2016 season.

Toledo’s 2016 recruiting class was ranked No. 3 in the Mid-American Conference by Rivals and 247 Sports in Jason Candle’s first recruiting class as head coach.

The recruiting class consist of nine offensive players, eleven defensive players and one athlete. An impressive seven recruits come from the state of Florida, five from Ohio, three from Michigan, and two from Pennsylvania. Candle was also able to snag a single recruits from Alabama, Texas, Maryland and Connecticut.

On the offensive side of the ball, Toledo brings in three running backs and receivers, two tight ends, and one offensive lineman. The defense for UT got some much needed depth bringing in five defensive linemen and six defensive backs. Dedarallo Blue is the only signee listed as a safety and Linebacker.
