University of Toledo law student arrested, charged with third-degree felony

A third-year law student at the University of Toledo was arrested Thursday by the FBI for allegedly meeting a teenager for sex.

Josef Vrtiska, 26, faces a third-degree felony charge for “unlawful sexual conduct with a minor,” according to an article written by toledonewsnow.com.

Vrtiska is said to have travelled to a hotel in Hilliard, Ohio, to have sex with a teenage girl he met on the app “Snapchat.”

His preliminary hearing will be Monday at Franklin County Municipal Court, according to the article. Until then, he is being held in The Franklin County Jail with a set bond of $100,000.

Vrtiska is listed on UT websites as the vice president of the graduate student association. He is also listed as the president of UT’s College of Law Business Law Society.
